About the Course
This course is divided into two semesters:
First Semester :A 24 Weeks, full-time engagement in the fundamentals of performance-making. This semester is a journey that begins with finding playfulness and presence, gradually gaining the skills of performance of looking into scripts, understanding the fundamentals of writing and the place of theatre in society, while applying all of this knowledge in self created work.
Second Semester :The second semester goes deeper into the application of the skills learned during the first semester as well as developing the more practical skills required for an artist. The journey continues with a full-fledged performance of a play that focuses on building on the student’s performance skills. At the same time, the students begin to build their work in a more organized manner. The learning shifts towards practical aspects of theatre-making and their application.
The admission process comprises a written application, a CV, two professional letters of reference.

Graduate or Equivalent level of study or work experience
Upon successful completion and submission of the application, candidates are invited for an audition process. Counsellors at the DSM are available to help you in the process of the application and prep for the audition.

About The Institution
Drama School Mumbai
The Drama School Mumbai was founded in 2013 to forge a new generation of theatre-makers; actor-creator-entrepreneurs professionally trained to perform and create work to a higher global standard of storytelling. Their alumni are all highly active – founding theatre groups, acting in award-winning plays, working in films as well as applying their craft in education and corporate-training.
They have accomplished this by assembling a faculty comprising of the best theatre practitioners; actors, playwrights, directors, theatre designers and producers, all of whom have formal training in the theatre arts or a vast body of work behind them. They have come together, to create a curriculum made from best practices of institutions from the world over, to teach students the pursuit of creative excellence through a working culture characterized by rigour, self-motivation and professionalism.
The Drama School Mumbai also works to promote the awareness of theatre and its processes to a wider audience interested in exploring and understanding the medium for themselves through shorter workshops, lectures, and regular presentations of work created by the students and faculty.
